Welcome to the main United Kingdom (UK) page!

In continental Europe, the UK includes Scotland, Wales, Gibraltar and Northern Ireland (on the same island which the country of Ireland is located). Ireland is a completely separate sovereign country from the UK. These four - plus England - are FIFA members, the governing body of football (Americans read soccer!).

Think of Scotland, Wales, Gibraltar and Northern Ireland like what in the USA we consider the territories of American Samoa, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands.

In international sports competitors, "England" is used to distinguish from its territories. Separately, "Britain" or "Great Britain" is another way of basically saying. "United Kingdom." Got it?

But wait for it. When you're THE GOAT of Sports Travel you also visit the islands of Alderney, Guernsey, Isle of Man and Jersey to enjoy football too!

You learn about baseball in the United Kingdom in "A World in a Ballpark: Baseball Goes Global" which is available for purchase here.
