When Portuguese sailors discovered an island 100 miles off the coast of China in the 1600s, they called it: 'Formosa," which in Portuguese means "beautiful." Slightly smaller in size than the U.S. states of Maryland and Delaware combined, Taiwan is indeed a beautiful island.

Taiwan has won 17 Little League World Series titles.
